2.0 Work Orders

Learn what work orders are and how they simplify your workflow, plus the two different types of work orders that dictate the parameters of execution for the work order.

  • Work Orders are how Spearhead organizes tasks that are or will be attributed to customers and performed by agents.
When creating a work order, backoffice must choose between two varieties of work orders, differentiated by their execution parameters:

Closed by Completion indicates that a work order is complete when the defined parameters for the job have been met. This gives a supervisor the option to automatically create one ticket to complete the work from the work order generation page.

NOTES:
  • A worksite has to be selected for a ticket to be automatically created from this page.
  • If the selected customer requires customer signatures enabled, choose yes or no from the toggle for the subsequent generated ticket.

Closed by Date indicates that a work order is complete when a set date has been reached, like a month or a quarter. This allows for the creation of multiple tickets attributed to one customer.

NOTES:

1. The start date automatically selects today's date and you must choose the specific date from the calendar that comes up to determine when the job is complete.
2. Worksite must be selected on the ticket level instead of the work order level.

This is how Work Orders function in your workflow:

  1. Backoffice or Supervisor creates a work order for a customer either to be concluded by date or completion.
  2. A Dedicated Agent or Supervisor is notified of the open work order and accesses it from their workflow to add tickets.
  3. The Agent fulfills the ticket criteria by logging work to it in the form of labor, miles, and expenses.
